Russia Is Invading Eastern Ukraine

UPDATE: (7:00 am) The news just said that Putin has warned nations around the world if they should interfere with his plans there will be dire consequences for them not seen since WWll (Paraphrased).

Kyiv braces for conflict as the West sanctions Russia after Putin orders troops into eastern Ukraine. It is happening now. Putin has invaded Eastern Ukraine and headed to Kyiv.

This should have never ever happened. This is thanks to Biden and his debacle in Afghanistan. Also as Bunkerville pointed out to me in our comment exchange on her blog that “if the Democrats had not gone after Trump with their so-called Russian collusion accusations this may have not happened (paraphrased).” I would add here it has been proved it was Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump involved in the Russian collusion.

“Russia has reportedly launched their full scale invasion into Ukraine during the early morning hours on Thursday, according to a top U.S. Senator.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, tweeted, “The Russian invasion of Ukraine is now underway.”

“In the hours to come, Russia will conduct strikes on air defense systems, move to cut off Kyiv from eastern Ukraine, [and] move to cut off Ukraine’s military forces on the line of contact in the east to prevent them from falling back to defend Kyiv,” Rubio added.” Read the full story here.

    I agree!

I wonder what “dire consequences” Putin means?

  2. Time for America to “break some rules” regarding supplying arms and assistance to the Baltics. It’s just a shame that Biden hasn’t the audacity to approve any “rule breaking”.

    1. Biden should have had the 82nd and 101st Airborne along with special forces and some seal teams “exercising” in Ukrainian neighbor NATO ally Romania, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary’s territories.

        1. Could they be placed any further from where they might be needed?

          A Master lament…

How all occasions do inform against me,
And spur my dull revenge! What is a man,
If his chief good and market of his time
Be but to sleep and feed? a beast, no more.
Sure, he that made us with such large discourse,
Looking before and after, gave us not
          That capability and god-like reason
To fust in us unused. Now, whether it be
Bestial oblivion, or some craven scruple
Of thinking too precisely on the event,
A thought which, quarter’d, hath but one part wisdom
And ever three parts coward, I do not know
Why yet I live to say ‘This thing’s to do;’
Sith I have cause and will and strength and means
          To do’t
. Examples gross as earth exhort me

  3. The last thing the U.S. needs right now is ANOTHER war that we have no intention of winning. The American people are tired of these never-ending wars; more to the point, the U.S. Armed Forces is tired of them, as well. The UN and NATO created this mess, let them sort it out without America’s incompetent assistance.

    1. I really don’t want to agree with you but I must. America has become inept and weak sad as it is. Having said this no matter who created this mess it will be the Ukrainians and all around the world that will pay. There is always collateral damage even when we do not go to war.

      1. The other silver lining may be that Mr. Putin has just started an insurgency that won’t end for years into the future. That should keep the Russian ground forces busy. All the Ukrainians have to do is locate those old Afghanistan “how to” binders and start reading up on how to become a major pain in the ass.

        1. Another silver lining is that we now have seen the order of battle [air, ground, naval & EW] in the forming, staging and maneuver stages….as well we’ll see their counter-insurgency operations, in action….as opposed to doctrine or exercises. Lot’s of good data collecting going on.

  4. As a U.S. senator, Barack Obama won $48 million in federal funding to help Ukraine destroy thousands of tons of guns and ammunition – weapons which are now unavailable to the Ukrainian army as it faces down Russian President Vladimir Putin during his invasion of Crimea. In August 2005, just seven months after his swearing-in, Obama traveled to Donetsk in Eastern Ukraine with then-Indiana Republican Senator Dick Lugar, touring a conventional weapons site. The two met in Kiev with President Victor Yushchenko, making the case that an existing Cooperative Threat Reduction Program covering the destruction of nuclear weapons should be expanded to include artillery, small arms, anti-aircraft weapons, and conventional ammunition of all kinds. After a stopover in London, the senators returned to Washington and declared that the U.S. should devote funds to speed up the destruction of more than 400,000 small arms, 1,000 anti-aircraft missiles, and more than 15,000 tons of ammunition.
